CasaSunset
Uvita is located on Costa Rica’s southern Pacific coast in the Costa Ballena region. While it feels tucked into the jungle, getting here from the United States is straightforward and well worth the journey.
Flying to Costa Rica
Most travelers from fly into Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) in San José. This is Costa Rica’s main international airport and offers frequent direct flights from major international airports.
Options From San Jose
Domestic Flights
From the domestic terminal at SJO airport both Sansa and Green Airways offer a convenient and scenic flight option from San José to Quepos.
Flight time: approximately 25 minutes
From Quepos, Uvita is approximately 40-minute drive
Rental cars are available in Quepos or arrange a shuttle to Uvita.
As an option both Sansa and Green Airways offer private charters for larger groups.

Driving
Travel time: approximately 3.5 to 4 hours depending on traffic.
Recommended route: Costanera Sur (Route 34)
The road is well paved and scenic, passing coastal towns and ocean views.
​4x4 or AWD vehicle is recommended for Costa Rica but is not required for access to Casa Sunset.
